The focus of this project has been to discover the perfect product-market fit by closely collaborating with product managers

When I joined the company, the opportunity forecast module had been released. This module is built upon the foundation of actuarial science and utilizes an extensive market scan database. Its main purpose is to provide cost-saving opportunities for both payers and providers.

I closely worked with the product manager and CEO to drive high adoption of the opportunity forecast.

Incorporating performance monitoring for payers can be a key driver for higher adoption of the opportunity forecast.

The primary purpose of performance monitoring is to assist payers in measuring the performance of providers in achieving cost savings.

This involves comparing the actual cost savings achieved by providers against the cost-saving opportunity forecast provided by Accorded.

After reaching out to user research, I obtained valuable feedback.

Based on this feedback, I organized it into distinct features. Additionally, I worked on creating a persona to enhance the understanding of our target users and their needs.

The most important insight from the benefit manager is that they prioritize employee benefits over cost-saving. Due to their heavy daily duties, they have limited time to monitor the performance of cost-saving initiatives by providers.

Another significant insight is that benefit managers heavily rely on brokers or consultants to obtain information about the performance of provider services.

This highlights the importance of considering the role of brokers or consultants in the performance monitoring system.

Our attention turns back to providers, aiming to inspire widespread ABC adoption.
With the help of a contract designer, providers can establish and design terms of value-based care contracts. The contract designer is based on opportunity forecast. Thus, the contract designer can lead to higher adoption of opportunity forecast, which is the core competency of Accorded’s actuarial science.

I collaborated with another designer to create a contract designer.

My role is to deliver diverse data visualizations for providers and payers to compare different contractor terms.

The main challenge lies in providing users with a comprehensive and easily understandable overview to compare different contracts.

As the designer of the contract designer reports generated by providers for payer review, my design principles focus on creating reports that are:

Interactive
Instructive
Engaging
Easy to comprehend

The sales team continues to collect feedback from customers.

During that time, I learned from the customer tax manager at Accorded that 80% of the service requests from customers were for marketing research purposes.

They are interested in identifying areas where they can provide the most value while also achieving cost savings for payers.

I initiated internal research to gain insights into the various models delivered by actuaries and their respective functions.

For analytical users, I engaged the internal actuarial team at Accorded to conduct user research.

This research aimed to analyze the current service flow of the actuarial team and identify any challenges they encounter when delivering models.

By collaborating with the actuarial team, I gained valuable insights into their workflow and processes.

The studio concepts I developed for Accorded's actuarial team aimed to simplify and automate the process of generating reports.

For non-analytical users, a helpful approach is to provide predefined popular questions as a starting point for their market research.

These predefined questions act as a guide and help users who may not be familiar with conducting in-depth analysis to kickstart their exploration.

These questions are designed to cover key aspects of the market and provide valuable insights.

To cater to the needs of analytics users, it is crucial to prioritize robust data processing and analysis

These users value accurate and reliable results that they can trust when making decisions. there is a potential for analytics users to take on model design themselves in the long run.

Therefore, it is important to explore design options that address these requirements effectively.

After several iterations, the final deliverables are represented on the right side. This design simplifies the module structure and is  used for validating the concept.

In the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), the predefined design is divided into four main sections, the design includes visualization and a table containing raw data.

Up to now, I got some feedback.
